"Like snowflakes, the human pattern is never cast twice. We are uncommonly and marvelously intricate in thought and action, our problems are most complex and, too often, silently borne."
Alice Childress US writer 1920-1994
Would you like to be more open? Begin small. A word here, a note there, maybe a line or two, all on unsteady ground. I would venture to say we have all experienced this sometime in our lives. Maybe a child who was seen and not heard. Maybe a student who felt out of place, overwhelmed. The young mother who could not understand why her baby cried so much. The wife or husband who felt their words fell on deaf ears. The couple left in an empty nest. Retired, living like strangers in the same house together. Our elderly, no one notices as they struggle to be independent. Very sad to know so many stories will never be written. Just one word, a line, a letter, maybe a journal to say, "hey I was here too." We not only owe this freedom to ourselves, but to any and all who have known us. Let the world know you are here, playing a part on the stage of life too. Allow yourself to know what kind of part you played. Then you can look back and see what a special snowflake you have always been.
