I saw this article this morning and thought it had some merit. I would add that one problem I encountered was that I got my mom to agree to some driving restrictions (weather, time of day, etc.) but the next day she didn't recall these. I also got her to agree enthusiastically that she needed to stop driving and that I would drive for her, and the next day, GONE. One must prepare to reinvent the wheel. She even called the police when I finally took the car away - said it had been stolen.
